In recent times, there has been a noticeable increase in online recruitment scams targeting job seekers and employers alike. These fraudulent activities often involve imposter recruiters posting fake job openings and contacting applicants with bogus job offers.
Scammers may even go as far as conducting fake interviews to obtain money or personal information. For guidance on identifying authentic job advertisements and safeguarding your online job search, refer to the FTC's resources.
To help you recognize genuine recruitment efforts from Zag Worx, here are our official recruitment practices:
Zag Worx’s Authentic Recruitment Practices
- Job Listings: All legitimate job opportunities at Zag Worx are posted exclusively on our official careers page OR on our Company Page on LinkedIn. Any job advertisement found elsewhere should be treated with caution.
- Communication Channels: Zag Worx may reach out to candidates through phone calls, emails, LinkedIn, Zoom, or text messages. We do not use any other virtual interview platforms. Expect live interactions, not just chat or text communications.
- No Payment Requests: Zag Worx will never ask for any form of payment during the hiring or onboarding process. We also do not send checks prior to employment commencement.
- Information Requests: Banking information will never be requested of you by anyone at Zag Worx.
- Email Domain: Official communications will always come from an @zagworx.com email address. Our employees will never use personal email accounts like Gmail or Hotmail for professional correspondence.
- Interview Process: Before receiving a job offer, candidates will undergo a multi-step interview process, which includes phone screens, Zoom video calls, or in person meetings with hiring company representatives.
Identifying Recruitment Fraud on LinkedIn
Fake LinkedIn profiles are a common tool used by imposter recruiters. Here are some tips to help you verify the authenticity of these profiles:
- Profile Consistency: Be wary of profiles using the same names and pictures across multiple accounts.
- Personal Information: Genuine profiles will have detailed personal information.
- Connections: Legitimate profiles typically have numerous connections within the claimed organization.
- Activity: Authentic profiles usually show regular activity, such as liking or sharing posts.
- Recommendations: Look for given or received recommendations, which are often missing in fake profiles.
Steps to Take If You Suspect Fraud
